Jesus came so that we could each have a personal relationship with God through Him regardless of our traditions or backgrounds and regardless of who we are or what we have done.

The reason that we meet in church is to worship who He is and what He has done for us. That He died to save us from our sin and restore the broken relationship with God the Father. We also meet together to strengthen our relationship with Him and also with each other. These are the reasons we meet together not to say that we come to church to show how ‘good’ we are but to lay ourselves before the One who made us and to give thanks for what He has done for us and for who He has made us to be.

Essentially we come to church to get real with God and with each other.

To refresh and build yourself spiritually and to encourage and edify one another.

So, ‘how are you?’ ‘I’m OK thank you.’

We have a culture of asking this but who responds with being real about it. How are you really? Even if you don’t want to tell anyone for real, you can get real with God and tell Him all about it and ask Him for help.

Prayer is simply conversation with God the Father and Jesus has made a way for us to have this incredible privilege of speaking with the Creator of the Universe through His sacrifice on the Cross He shed His blood for every person on this earth so that we can be called sons and daugthers of the most High God.

So everything we have and everything that we will ever need is found in relationship with Jesus. Spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. The most important thing is that our identity is found in Him also; this is who we are and who He made us to be.

The relationship with Jesus can start immediately we say yes to Him and turn back to Him, repenting of our sin and asking Him to become Lord and Saviour of our life, to live for Him and to honour Him with who we are and what we do. When we have done this our future is secure with a place in Heaven that He provides for us for eternity.
